Local Pipelines: Migrating CI/CD to Self-Hosted Woodpecker CI
The Context: "The 3 AM Trigger"
Our cloud pipeline runs were delayed by 2 hours due to shared runner queue starvation. More importantly, we were passing sensitive SSH signing keys to cloud run containers. We built a local bare-metal runner array instead.
The Problem Statement
Create an isolated, sovereign compilation and testing workflow that supports multiple language runtimes with high execution speeds.

The Core Logic / Process
Constructing Private Runners
We migrate CI/CD to a lightweight Woodpecker CI instance:
- Local Agent Isolation: Running execution agents in unprivileged containers.
- Ephemeral Databases: Rebuilding DB targets inside isolated Docker volumes that wipe on completion.
- Private Registry: Sourcing base images only from our local cache.
The "Baigan" Take (Expert Insights)
Waiting in queues for cloud runners to build your docker image is a waste. Baigan ka pipeline hai wo (a trash pipeline) that leaks your private credentials in log outputs.
